ABOUT KATIE WARNER

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ve come here because you are passionate about having a more intentional faith – personally or with your family at home – because I am, too.

I’m constantly in pursuit of a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church, even and especially amidst the hectic demands of daily life. I want to lead my family toward a simple and intentional way of living our faith, too. In other words, I want to be Catholic on purpose. Want to join me?

Katie Warner HeadshotI’m Katie Warner. I’m a full-time Catholic wife and mom, and a writer and speaker in the free nooks and crannies of time in day-to-day family life. It’s my passion to share resources, strategies, tips, and tools with others who want to live out an active, vibrant faith with those they love.

Why did I become so interested in spiritual leadership and intentional Catholic living?

I’m a cradle-Catholic. It’s been one of my greatest blessings to be born and baptized into the Church at infancy, which has given me a lifetime’s worth of opportunity to explore, grow, and bask in the truth, goodness, and beauty of the faith – and I still have so much to learn. Thanks to God’s grace, I’ve always stayed near and treasured my Catholic faith and upbringing.

Shortly after my husband and I were married, I kind of word-exploded on him one day about how badly I want us to be intentional about our spiritual leadership at home, especially as we grow our family. I want us to have dynamic spiritual lives as individuals, as a couple, and as a family – dedicated to an ever-deepening relationship with Christ and an intentional pursuit of heaven – particularly in the midst of a culture that has other priorities for us.

In a moment of extreme vulnerability and humility, my husband looked at me and said, “Katie, I want to be a strong spiritual leader for our family, but what exactly does that look like? I don’t know how – practically – to do that on a day-to-day basis.”

His confession kind of blew me away. It was so honest. So relatable. So many Christians — regardless of whether you’re born and raised in the Church or came into the fullness of faith later in life — could use more practical resources to live out the faith everyday, both individually and as a family.

So I wrote a guidebook for intentional spiritual leadership at home for my husband and for other families. It’s called Head & Heart: Becoming Spiritual Leaders for Your Family, and since it’s release, I’ve been in awe of the impact it’s had on our own family life and on the spiritual lives of others who have come in contact with the information it provides — through stories from dozens of Catholic couples (many older and all wiser than me), the wisdom of Scripture and Church teaching, and the action steps it lays out to help readers make daily progress toward a more meaningful Catholic life. The book is pretty simple, yet beautifully transformative.

Since then, I’ve continued providing recommendations and resources that are working for my family or for others through KatieWarner.com, formerly CatholicKatie.com)!

This site will deliver practical essentials for living the faith more intentionally, so you and I can focus our efforts to better know, love and serve Him in and through our families and His Church, while we go about the sometimes crazy, but all-the-time beautiful lives and vocations to which He has called us.

A Little More About My Ministry Work

I write and speak about a variety of spiritual and practical topics, and have enjoyed presenting in venues like the National Catholic Bible Conference and numerous Legatus chapters, the Eucharistic Congress of Atlanta, EWTN radio, and on EWTN television. I’m also featured in the Augustine Institute’s Symbolon and Opening the Word programs. You can find my written articles in places like The Integrated Catholic Life and the National Catholic Register.

I also work part-time as the Manager of Communication and Evangelization for Catholics Come Home, a national Catholic evangelism apostolate working to invite fallen-away Catholics and non-Catholics home to the Catholic Church. I’m the copywriter of CatholicsComeHome.org and the author of GoodConfession.com. I contribute to the work of VirtueMedia, a pro-life apostolate that helps thousands of babies and parents escape the tragedy of abortion through pro-life television commercials.

I received my graduate degree in Catholic Theology, specializing in Evangelization and Catechesis, from the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado. I also have a degree in Communication and Professional Writing.

My Family and Other Interests

I’m married to a dashing and inspiringly sacrificial man, who calms my crazy side and can fix anything that breaks. We currently live in Southern California with our awesome kids.

When I’m not wrangling my kids in a pew at daily Mass or reading stories aloud to them in a myriad of voices, you might catch me brainstorming, writing, cookbook perusing, freaking out when I see a bug, exercising, reading, or talking to my mom on the phone. I’m an extroverted introvert with a devotion to the Divine Mercy, a habit of imploring the intercession of Archbishop Fulton Sheen, and a love for the challenging and rewarding pursuit of sanctity.
